Meet our Owner

Davin Reckow

Davin Reckow has a love for all things automotive. Pursuing this passion, he received his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1994. After college, Davin restored his 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396, which he still owns. In 2001 he finished his first purpose-built race car, a 1982 Chevrolet Malibu for racing on the ⅜ mile dirt track in the Street Stock division. Thoroughly bit by the racing bug, Davin moved to a modified, which he raced in Michigan and UMP modified divisions for a total of 10 years. Always having the passion for classics, Davin started building his first Slingshot Dragster. It took a total of three years, but in 2013 he made his first pass. Since then, he has been building chassis and engines for Slingshot Dragsters, Funny Cars, and Altered Chassis Dragster.
Racing runs in the Reckow family. His daughter Grace has been running a Junior Dragster for over five years, and his son Anders will be racing soon!

The glue that holds this family of gearheads and speed freaks together is Davin’s wife Tanya of 21 years. We are all pretty sure that as soon as she gets into the driver’s seat, she is going to be the fastest one of all!

“The best part of running a Nostalgia Dragster is everyone stops and notices the car. It’s not just another door car.” His favorite comment is when someone who raced in the 60s says “You’re doing it right!”
